Международный День Промышленного Дизайна отмечается ежегодно 29 июня приветствием профессии промышленного дизайнера. Впервые провозглашенный в 2007 году по случаю 50-й годовщины ИКСИД, Международный День Промышленного Дизайна был основан с целью продвижения осведомленности о профессии промышленного дизайнера и расширения сотрудничества дизайнеров и преподавателей, которое помогает улучшить экономическое, социальное, культурное и экологическое качество жизни во всём мире.
Сериями международных событий 29 июня, инициированных как членами, так и не членами ИКСИД, Международный День Промышленного дизайна обеспечивает дизайнеров и единомышленников, энтузиастов широкого спектра профессий, каналом взаимодействия друг с другом. Такие события, как развивающие семинары, выставки, международные симпозиумы по социально ответственному дизайну, веб-трансляции, свободный вход в музеи и международный студенческий конкурс плакатов ИКСИД являются только частью той памятной деятельности, на которую Всемирный День Промышленного Дизайна вдохновил окружающий мир.
Adelaide, in South Australia, is celebrating World Industrial Design day by holding a design contest called "Hung out to dry", which calls upon South Australian designers to design coat hangers made of recycled materials. This contest is to demonstrate how industrial designers can solve social and environmental issues.
On 29 June in Antwerp, Flanders Inshape, three Flemish design universities and the Society of Flemish Designers will host a lecture by Icsid Senator Prof. Dr. Peter Zec entitled, "Good Industrial Design is Good Business!" This lecture will highlight the value of design as a strategic business tool for economic growth and added value. During the evening, there will also be a Pecha Kucha consisting of three designers presenting successful industrial design cases and a presentation by Ingrid Lieten, the Flemish minister of Innovation, Government investments, Media and Poverty reduction.
British Columbia Industrial Design (BCID) members, and their families and friends are invited to celebrate World Industrial Design Day at the first annual "Golden Links" Frisbee Golf event. The inaugural year of the tournament will be held at the 'classic' Jericho disc golf course.
The school of design at the Instituto Profesional DuocUC de la Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile (DuocUC) will be holding an exhibition and seminar about the value of design in everyday life. The exhibition will display 100 everyday objects that have marked the history of Chile in a way to examine the process and reasoning behind their design. The Seminar will be held on June 29 beginning at 15:00 at DuocUC San Carlos de Apoquindo Campus located in Santiago, Chile.

The China Design Market (CDM) nameplate unveiling ceremony will be held on 29th June. Simultaneously, the first design museum in China will be established during CDM. Beijing Municipal Government built China's first design market in China Design Market Tower, it offers services to enterprises, designers, colleges and design firms including investing and financing, business negotiation, salon and exhibitions.
"+86 China Red Star Design Award Store" of Beijing Industrial Design Center (BIDC) will open in 798 artzone on 29th June. The store will sell Red Star awarded products and other popular design products to encourage citizens to use good design.
On 29th June, BIDC will also hold "Re-design of low-carbon life" exhibition in CDM to arouse the awareness of citizens to reuse and recycle waste product.
BIDC's China Design Plus College of Design Practice will organize a design management training for students in Beijing DRC Industrial Design Innovation Base.
Pastodiseña design collective, in collaboration with a Universidad de Nariño I.D. students group, is holding a public design show in commemoration of World Industrial Design Day. The event, "RE USE 2" will include the creation of interesting objects entirely from plastic bottles and will be held from June 29 to July 4 at Unicentro Pasto Mall.
The city of Dresden will showcase the spontaneity of their artful city in collaboration with the Dresden Technical University by celebrating World Industrial Design Day. The program consists of a roundtable discussion about Design Education, a workshop on the future of design at the Museum of Decorative Arts and a discussion on 'Flow Design' and design practices.
The Dublin Institute of Technology and the Institute of Designers in Ireland in association with Dublin City Council are pleased to announce details of a workshop to take place in the School of Art Design and Printing, DIT Mountjoy Square to celebrate World Industrial Design Day.

Mashhad Municipality is very pleased to celebrate WORLD INDUSTRIAL DESIGN DAY. Though, IAUM faculty members and students are the program administrative committee.
The program consists of a lecture and media presentation offered to emerging and professional industrial designers. Government and industry representatives will be the main participants of the symposium. The program will be held on 30 June at 6:00 pm. In addition, selected national product designs will be exhibited through 30 June to 7 July, at Mashhad artists' house (Kuh-sangi park). Organizers at ETMK City Branch is planning to celebrate World Industrial Design Day for the first time. The city's event "The Days To Come Together Today" is their designated slogan. They've also created a facebook event for local Turkish citizens to participate.
This year, Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Department of Industrial Product Design celebrated World Industrial Design Day on the 26th of June 2010, due to their graduation ceremony.
ITU alumni, students and members of the design community in Istanbul attended the meeting in which industrial designer Umit Altun gave a speech titled as "Being an Industrial Designer in Turkey". A cocktail party in Taskisla courtyard, kindly sponsored by Makel and Efe, followed the talk soon afterwards.
During a two-day Research Festival at the University of Brighton's Design Archive, the archives' team will be distributing badges marking a selection of classic British product designs with recipients being invited to identify the designers. The University of Brighton's 'Design Archives' is home to the ICSID archive.
The University Institute of Technology Antonio José de Sucre Extension San Cristóbal, Táchira State located in Venezuela, is coordinating a series of workshops focused on solving problems in natural disaster for World Industrial Design Day. They have invited other Industrial Design schools within a border zone between Colombia and Venezuela, among them are the Experimental University of Tachira, the Politécnico Santiago Mariño, and the University of Pamplona.
The event will focus on forming three teams of 10 students of different universities using materials such as cardboard, aluminum and PET. This event will be coordinated by Prof. Dr. DI. Luis Salgado, Head of the School of Industrial Design faculty of the University Institute of Technology Antonio José de Sucre Extension San Cristóbal.
